Our RUK Grey Flex Membrane is a 1mm flexible polypropylene fleeced membrane designed to be applied to walls affected by damp and salt contamination. The membrane is held to the wall using Drybase flex adhesive, a polymer modified cement-based product. Once mixed with water the adhesive can be trowel applied to the wall (use within 30 mins of mixing) and the membrane then attached to the wall. We would recommend the adhesive is around 1-2mm thick and to work in m² sections. The membrane can be cut easily using heavy duty scissors. For joining two sections, an overlap is recommended of at least 50mm width.
The membrane itself is grey in colour with a fleeced surface which provides plaster with an excellent surface to adhere to. It can hold lightweight plasters such as bonding and hardwall or plasterboard using the standard ‘dot & dab’ method. We would recommend that the adhesive is left to cure over night before attaching your plaster/plasterboard.
Once installed this system will prevent damp and salts reaching any decorative finish. Because of the flexible nature of the product, awkward shapes or small indents are easy to cover. Vaulted ceilings are quick to cover without the use of drills and plugs.
Can be used up to 30cm below ground level.
