Restor 39 Epoxy Resin Floor Coating Sealer

RESTOR 39 WATER DISPERSIBLE EPOXY COATING
GENERAL INFORMATION
RESTOR 39 is a water dispersible, epoxy floor coating and sealer. It is an odourless sealer coat for use on cementitious surfaces, to provide a dust-proof, easily cleaned surface resistant to penetration by oils and liquids. It is suitable for areas of pedestrian and light traffic.
RESTOR 39 is a two component, water dispersible epoxy resin system, which when mixed forms a hard, flexible and semi-matt seal to concrete and other substances.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surfaces to be treated should be clean and free from all contamination. Where the surface is contaminated with oil or grease, this should be removed by treatment with a suitable de-greaser, followed by washing with clean water. Excess laitence should be removed by acid etching, followed by washing off with copious amounts of water.
MIXING
RESTOR 39 is supplied in pre-weighed quantities, ready for on-site mixing. Mix the resin and the hardener components thoroughly together for 2 - 3 minutes, ensuring that it is mixed thoroughly around the sides and at the bottom of your mixing vessel. Ensure that the hardener container is large enough to hold both the resin and hardener components and is recommended for use as the mixing vessel. RESTOR 39 may be mixed by hand or by a mechanical mixer if preferred, it must operate at low r.p.m. to prevent excessive temperature increase and air inclusion during the mixing operation. A simple paddle attachment to a low-speed industrial drill is suitable.
APPLICATION
Apply the mixed RESTOR 39 to the clean, preferably dry surface (excessive water will cause slow curing) using a brush or lambswool roller. Make certain that the area is completely and evenly coated and that 'ponding' of the material does not occur. The second coat can be applied as soon as the first coat has initially cured. How long this will take will depend on the surface temperature and humidity conditions, but will he between 6-18 hours.
If a screed coat is to be applied to the final coat, improved keying can be obtained by sieving dry cement directly on to the RESTOR 39 before curing has taken place.
For tanking situations, the wall/floor joint is critical. We would recommend that a fillet is formed using RESTOR RAPID SET ( found under Waterproofing & Tanking Products), followed by overlapping using RESTOR 39 up to 275mm up the wall and floor. This detail will ensure a perfect seal.
PACKING AND COVERAGE
A '5' pack will cover approximately 40 - 50 square metres, this figure will depend upon the porosity of the substrate.
PROPERTIES
Pot Life: 1 hour @ 15 degrees C
Cure Time: The coating will accept light foot traffic after 24 hrs and is fully cured after 7 days.
STORAGE
RESTOR 39 should be stored, mixed and applied above 10 degrees C to obtain the coverage rate quoted. RESTOR 39 becomes more viscous and more difficult to apply in cold weather.
